Calling all my ladies with larger shoe sizes, I hear you and I feel you! On today's post, I talk about my partnership with Lonia Shoes, a designer footwear brand which creates stylish footwear for women sizes 10 to 15. Yes, you heard it! And for those of you reading who don't necessarily fall into this category, keep Lonia Shoes in mind when making those holiday shopping lists - I'm positive they'll come in handy!
Fun Fact: According to a report from the National Shoe Retailers Association, the average American woman's shoe size ranges between size 8 1/2 and 9. In Great Britain, the average British woman wears a British size 6, which equates to a US size 8, leaving many to think the commonality of having these shoe sizes could be more of a worldwide trend. But then, what happens to us gals with 10+ shoe sizes?
If I had a dollar for every time I went shoe shopping, fell in love with a particular design, asked for it in a size 10, and the store ran out of it in my size, I'd be a millionaire. Then there are times where I finally find a gorgeous looking shoe, try it on, and I'd rather wear bricks on my feet because of how uncomfortable it is! * Deep breaths. Long story short, the struggle is
way too real.
At last, I am thrilled to have discovered a shoe brand which gets me! Lonia Shoes has a wide selection of fashionable AND comfortable shoes in my size, and they are completely reinventing the way women with larger feet dress and perceive themselves. As an example, take the Ellie booties I am wearing, black suede surface, a sleek silhouette, and classy clear 4-inch block heels, they are a fall must have! Also, I wore them all day, running around Manhattan for three photoshoots and my feet didn't hurt at all. Extra brownie points for comfort! And have I mentioned how affordable they are?! Cha-ching!
In all honesty, being a woman with large feet shouldn’t equate to nightmarish shoe shopping experiences. Also, being a woman with large feet shouldn't shame or embarass you either! I'm so used to it, I make fun of myself all the time - I'm 5'4 and a size 10, how did that happen? God knows! Well, someone the other day said I had model sized feet, which I took as the biggest compliment! But if you're still feeling a bit insecure about your shoe size, below are five thoughts I keep in mind, which make me appreciate the beauty of having big feet.
The Beauty of Having Big Feet
- My feet look amazing in heels
- I rarely have to share my shoes with my friends (yay!)
- My shoes can double as a stylish accessory and a handy weapon.
- The bigger the feet, the stronger the foundation.
- My big feet make me feel pretty unique and they also make for great conversation starters (trust me, you can never take yourself too seriously!)
